On November 29th, 2022 at approximately 2:45 PM a Toledo Police Officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a black 2002 Lexus Sedan near the intersection of SE 10th and SE Sturdevant Road in the City of Toledo. The Officer was able to identify the driver of the vehicle as Tracy Jean Bell, at this time the Officer was aware Mr. Bell had nationwide warrants for the original charges of Conspiracy to Deliver Methamphetamine and Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute out of Salt Lake City, Utah.
The Officer gave commands to Mr. Bell to exit the vehicle and he failed to comply and eluded the Officer north on Sturdevant Road to Business Highway 20. He continued on Business Highway 20 to the East Junction where he significantly damaged his vehicle by entering the grass median at a high rate of speed. Mr. Bell was able to continue east onto Highway 20 where he made a turn onto Elk City Road and crashed into a parked tractor and attempted to flea on foot. The Officer was able to locate Mr. Bell and place him into custody after a taser deployment. He was also found in possession of a criminal amount of Methamphetamine and a large amount of US Currency.
Mr. Bell was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport where he was treated for minor injuries and then transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged on his Fugitive from Justice Warrants out of Salt Lake City along with local charges for Attempting to Elude-Vehicle, Attempting to Elude-Foot, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Theft I, Escape III, Interfering with a Police Officer and Criminal Mischief II. The Toledo Police Department was assisted by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
