The Oregon State Police received multiple complaints on a GMC Sierra near milepost 10 on Highway-20 as it was headed westbound. Members of the public were able to get the involved GMC to pull over. At this time Oregon State Police Trooper Severson was arriving in the area and made contact with the involved driver, who was identified as 66-year old Edwin E Webb of Cauldwell Idaho. After impairment was observed he was arrested for
DUII and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. While at the jail Mr.Webb provided a urine sample for testing for alcohol or controlled substances.
State Police Trooper Nathman responded to a single vehicle crash on Highway 20 at milepost 17. Upon arrival, the driver, identified as 21-year old Valencia J. Sanchez was speaking with medics and displayed multiple signs of impairment. There was heavy damage to the guardrail, requiring ODOT be called out to the scene. Sanchez was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport where it was discovered that he had well over the legal limit of alcohol in his system. Sanchez consented to a legal blood draw. When he was
discharged from the hospital he was taken into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. While there he consented to a breath test and provided a sample of .14 blood alcohol content. Sanchez was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail for the crimes of DUII and Reckless Driving.
On 09/09/2023 at approximately 11:38 p.m., State Police Trooper Goodey responded to a collision on Highway 18 near milepost 10 involving a black Chrysler 300. The driver was identified as 43-year old Mark A. Rohliffs of McMinnville and when contacted he was found to be showing signs of impairment. After further investigation Rohliffs was taken to the
Lincoln County Jail and lodged for DUII, Reckless Endangering, and Possession of a Controlled Substance for Cocaine. North Lincoln Fire and ODOT assisted on scene.
