Contact Tracers Trying To Keep Up With Increase In Covid Cases

Due to a massive increase in COVID-19 cases over the past two weeks, Lincoln County Health investigators are unable to reach those newly diagnosed cases for an interview as fast as we would like. Our contact tracers are also experiencing very high volumes of work. The team will get to you as soon as they can. They are working hard to support the community and are

bringing more people in to address the increased workload. Please pick up the phone when they call and please be kind to them.

Here’s what you can do to help decrease transmission of COVID-19:

 If you tested positive for COVID-19, please isolate from other people for a minimum of 10 days since either your symptom onset date or your test date – this applies to both vaccinated and unvaccinated people. If you know you have been in close contact (within 6 ft for >15 minutes) to someone who tested positive for COVID-19, please follow the following guidance:

o If you are vaccinated, you do not have to quarantine but you can choose to. If you do not

quarantine, we ask that you wear a mask for 14 days and that you monitor for COVID-19

symptoms. Infection despite vaccination is happening and symptoms are often mild.

o If you are not vaccinated or not fully vaccinated (in between doses or it’s not been two weeks since your second dose), please stay home and at least 6 feet away from everyone, including household members for at least 10 days.

o If you develop symptoms of COVID-19, you will be considered a presumptive case and will need to remain isolated for 10 days from the onset of your symptoms. Looking for updated COVID-19 information or resources? Follow our pages or connect with our call center.
