Lincoln County will close its Water, Sanitary and Drainage Districts grant process and applications will no longer be accepted at 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 30. On June 10, Lincoln County opened a grant process to award $398,000 of the County’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to invest in local water, sewer and drainage districts serving unincorporated Lincoln County. To date, seven applications requesting a total of $333,100 have been submitted, leaving a balance of $64,900 unrequested. Eligible applicants are existing water, sewer and drainage districts serving the unincorporated areas of Lincoln County. Applications are reviewed on a first-come first-served basis for qualifying districts and projects.
The County will execute contracts with awarded districts before Dec. 31, 2024, and all work on the awarded projects must be completed by subrecipients before December 2026.
The grant application is accessible through the County News section of the Lincoln
County website homepage, which also provides information on eligible districts and
eligible projects. ARPA is a law signed by President Joseph Biden in March 2021 to provide direct relief to municipalities affected by COVID-19. The purpose of ARPA is to support pandemic recovery efforts, replace public sector lost revenue, spur job growth, jump start
economic growth through household and business stabilization, and address systemic
public health and economic challenge.
