On 04/29/2022 at approximately 4:19pm State Police Trooper Stewart responded to a single car crash on highway 18 at about milepost 8. Investigation showed the driver of a Silver Toyota Matrix was traveling westbound when the car left the roadway and collided with the embankment and made a full rotation overturning and coming to a rest upright. The 82-year old driver and her 89-year old passenger, both from Lake Oswego, were transported to Samaritan North Lincoln hospital to be evaluated. The highway was closed while the car was removed then the highway was opened back up.
