On 7/7/21 at approximately 2:03 pm Sgt Wertz was dispatched to a multiple vehicle crash on US 101 just south of Depoe Bay. Investigation showed the driver of a blue Ford 150 driven by 68-year old Alfred C. Moss was stopped in the northbound lane waiting to turn into Rocky Creek State Park in violation of the No Left Turn sign posted. The driver of a silver Toyota Tundra stopped behind the truck then was subsequently rear-ended by a Chevy Tahoe. No one was injured during the crash and all vehicles were derivable. Moss was cited for Fail to Obey a Traffic Control Device.
On 7/7/21 at approximately 7PM State Police Trooper Severson stopped the driver of a Dodge for speeding on the Alsea Bay Bridge. A background check returned showing the car stolen in Florence. When contacted the driver provided a false name and information to Trooper Severson. He was taken into custody and booked, where he was identified as 38-year old Joshua M. Herbrecht. He was cited for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Giving False Information To Police, Unauthorized Entry into a Motor Vehicle and for having no drivers license. The owner pf the car recovered the vehicle. Lincoln County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
On 7/8/21 at approximately 12:50am a southbound Oldsmobile crashed into a ditch at SE 116th in South Beach. The driver fled the scene. Trooper Severson later located the driver identified as 39-year old Corrie, E Largent at her residence. When contacted she displayed numerous signs of impairment and reportedly told Trooper Severson she swerved to avoid a pedestrian and overturned into the ditch. After she performed field sobriety tests Largent was arrested and transported to Lincoln County Jail where a breath sample measured her Blood Alcohol Content at .23, nearly 3 times the legal limit. She was cited and released for DUI Alcohol. Lincoln County Sheriff's Office assisted.
