On August 23rd at 1:06am State Police Trooper Gray stopped the driver of a Maroon Honda SUV for speeding on highway 101 in Waldport. he driver. 44-year old Meody D. Frazier was found to be Driving under the influence and after an investigation she was arrested for DUII and reckless driving and transported to the Lincoln County Jail.
On August 20 at approximately just after 8pm State Police trooper Cates was dispatched to a single vehicle crash at the north end of Newport on highway 101 near Moolock Beach.
The driver of a white Chevy Silverado drifted across traffic into the oncoming lane and continued over the embankment where the Chevy collided with a tree. The driver 44- year old Travis E. Lindow of Eugene was transported to the hospital for injuries. He was cited for Failure to Maintain Lane and Careless Driving.
On 08/17/2024 at approximately 02:10 a.m., State Police Trooper Goodey responded to a single vehicle collision on US-101 just north of Beverly Beach. A southbound silver Dodge SUV struck a guardrail before coming to rest on the shoulder. The driver fled the
scene but was later contacted at his residence. He was identified as 18-year old Bryan Gonzalez of Lincoln City. He was criminal cited and released for failure to perform the duties of a driver in an accident with property damage.
On August 17th just after midnight state police trooper Gray stopped the driver of a Jeep SUV at the Lincoln City Outlet Mall for driving without headlights on. The driver, 32-year old Joel Cortez of Shoreline Washington was found to be intoxicated. After the investigation he was arrested for DUII, and reckless driveing and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail.
State Police Trooper Gray responded to a two car injury crash on Highway 18. The driver of a yellow Ford Box Van rearended the driver of a white Ford Transit van
causing significant damage to both vehicles and creating a hazard by blocking the eastbound lane. The driver and three passengers from the white Transit van were transported to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital. The East bound Lane was blocked for approximately two hours.
State police trooper Severson responded to a report of a two car rear end collision with injuries on Highway 20. Investigation showed an eastbound car stopped on Highway 20 to turn north on Christiansen Road in Toledo. A Toyota Camry, stopped abruptly and the driver of another vehicle a Chevrolet van was unable to stop in time and his vehicle collided with the rear end of the Toyota Camry. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. The driver of the Toyota was transported by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation. The driver of the van was issued a citation for following too closely.
