Crashes Lead To DUII Arrests

On May 1 at approximately 6:37 PM A State Police Trooper Gray responded to a report of a single car injury-crash on HWY 34 in vicinity of mile post 1.5. It was reported the driver of a gray Chevy Silverado drove their truck off the westbound side of the highway into the river. The Silverado was partially submerged, and the driver, 60-year old Rick A, Woosley of Waldort was extracted from the truck. He was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities hospital where he was later found to be driving while intoxicated and was arrested for DUII and Reckless driving.


On 05/01/2024 at approximately 07:49 p.m., a two car crash was reported on hwy-101

near Gleneden Beach where the driver of Toyota Corolla, 28-year old Timothy R. Opp of Depoe Bay rear-ended a GMC Sierra. The collision was found to be non-reportable however Opp was found to be intoxicated and was arrested on scene. The Toyota and young children in the car and they were released to family. Opp was taken to and lodged in the Lincoln County Jail. LCSO and Depoe Bay Fire assisted on scene.


State Police Trooper Gray responded to a non-injury single car crash that occurred when the westbound driver of a white Toyota Camry, 26-year old Jordan B. Roldan of Salem drove the car off the eastbound side of hwy 18 in vicinity of mile post 8 and got stuck in soft shoulder. Roldan was found to be driving under the influence of intoxicants and was arrested and transported to the Lincoln County Jail charged with DUII and Reckless Driving.


State Police Trooper Gray responded to an Injury-crash that took place on hwy 101 just south of Seal Rock where the driver of a red Toyota Carola, 80-year old Rolland J. Young drove the car off the northbound side of the highway crashing 15-20 feet down an embankment. Mr. Young had to be extracted by EMS personnel and was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital. Further investigation at the hospital found that he was driving under the influence of intoxicants and he was issued criminal citations for DUII and Reckless Driving then released.


Trooper Gray responded to a report of an injury-crash on HWY 34 at mile post 22. Investigation showed the driver of a westbound silver Dodge 2500 failed to navigate a corner and crashed off the eastbound side of the highway approximately 50 feet down a steep bank. The driver, 69-year old Scott D. Toates of Tidewater sustained serious injuries and was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis by ambulance where he was found to be driving under the influence of intoxicants and was issued a criminal citation for DUII and reckless driving. They highway was closed for approximately

two hours while B&R Towing recovered the truck.


State police trooper Goodey responded to a single car collision just south of Waldport by Tillicum Beach on highway 101. Investigation showed the driver of a gray Ford SUV, 76-year old Jacob Volkov of Oroville California was northbound, left the roadway, and struck a tree on the southbound shoulder. Mr. Volkov was transported by ambulance Samaritan Pacific Communities hospital and was found to be driving under the influence of intoxicants and was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving. ODOT, Yachats Rural Fire Protection District, Pacific West, and Central Coast Fire assisted on scene.


State Police responded to a report of a driving complaint on a white Chevrolet sedan that was headed southbound on hwy 101 from South Beach. The sedan was then reported to have crashed and destroyed property near milepost 2 on highway 34 before fleeing the scene. The sedan was then involved in a crash on Five Rivers Road near milepost 5 off hwy-34. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office arrested the driver, 23-year old Autumn M. Clendenen of Newport for DUII. Oregon State Police assisted on scene.


Oregon State Police responded to a single car crash near milepost 4 on HWY 34. Prior to arriving on scene, it was advised that the driver had ran away from the scene of the crash. Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office located the subject near milepost 5 on HWY 34. Investigation revealed that the driver, identified as 33-year old Zachary A. Ford had been driving recklessly prior to the crash and was indicating signs of impairment. Subsequently,

he was arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for DUII, reckless driving, reckless endangering, failure to perform duties of a driver, and criminal mischief. He was also found to be driving while suspended and driving with no insurance. OSP was assisted by the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office.
