On the evening of September 15, the Oregon State Police assisted the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) after a Sheriff Sergeant observed an active disturbance taking place in the parking lot of the Otis Post Office near a vehicle between a man and a woman. LCSO conducted a domestic assault investigation and learned the man and woman recently arrived at the location from a nearby wedding before getting into the argument. LCSO asked OSP to handle the DUII aspect to the investigation.
The driver was identified through witness statements and evidence seen inside the vehicle as 33-year old Jervaine C Everett of Neotsu. When contacted he showed numerous signs of impairment and was transported to the Lincoln County Jail by LCSO where the DUII investigation continued. Everett reportedly refused to participate in field sobriety tests as well as provide a breath sample. A search warrant was applied for and obtained for blood which was executed on behalf of Pac-West Ambulance. Everett was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail after being charged with DUII – Alcohol and Driving While Suspended Misdemeanor.
