Sunday morning October 27th at approximately 09:08 AM, the Oregon State Police received a driving complaint on a westbound car on hwy 18 near MP 23. The vehicle, a black 2013 Volkswagen Jetta was reported to have been serving, speeding, and braking inappropriately. A license plate was provided by the caller who followed the vehicle until the area of the Rose Lodge Market.
As a Trooper was en-route to the driving complaint, the car left the north side of the roadway near MP 5.5 at N Slick Rock Creek Road. The driver struck a curb headwall vaulted and barrel rolled before striking two large boulders in a private residence along the north side of the roadway. The car rolled and came to an uncontrolled rest near the residence. The driver, identified as 45-year old Jennifer L. Vodjanski of Portland sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital.
Vodjanski was later contacted at the hospital and interviewed. She showed signs of impairment and reportedly admitted to drinking earlier that morning. Hospital blood tests showed she had a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.345 percent. Vodjanski was arrested for DUII and Reckless Driving. She was a cited and released at the hospital and was also issued violation citations for Driving Uninsured, Switched License Plates, and Failure to Register the vehicle. Oregon State Police were assisted at the scene by North Lincoln Fire and Rescue, ODOT Incident Response, PAC West Ambulance, and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
