Senior State Police Trooper Fitch responded to a single vehicle crash on hwy 229. A green Ford Ranger was travelling northbound, towards Siletz, when it left the roadway and overturned, coming to rest on its wheels. It was occupied by the driver, identified as 32-year old Tara P. Brown of Seal Rock and a 2 year old child in a child safety seat. Both occupants were transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital for evaluation.
During the investigation, Brown appeared intoxicated. After the blood test results became available, showing she had a blood alcohol level at over 3 times the legal limit. Prior to being transported to another hospital, the driver was cited and released for DUII, Reckless endangerment, Reckless Driving, Driving While Suspended and Driving Uninsured. The child was released from the hospital to a family member.
