On Wednesday June 5th at 4:13 AM, the Depoe Bay Fire District received an emergency call reporting a fire at a residential property on Glen Avenue in Gleneden Beach. Firefighters were promptly dispatched and arrived to find a single-story duplex, a carport, and four automobiles fully involved. Firefighters initiated an aggressive exterior attack due to the rapid spread of the flames, focusing on protecting nearby structures and containing the fire to the duplex involved.
A total of 12 firefighters, four fire engines, and three chief officers brought the fire under control in 42 minutes, with firefighters conducting a thorough search to confirm no occupants were inside the structure at the time of the fire. There were no injuries reported among residents or firefighters. The duplex, carport, and vehicles sustained considerable damage. The Oregon State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
