Just after 5:30 on February 18, the Depoe Bay Fire District responded to a reported structure fire in the Boiler Bay vicinity. On arrival, units encountered an attic fire established in a 1500 square foot detached home/greenhouse conversion. Firefighters made an aggressive attack on the fire and were able to save most of the structure. Unfortunately, most of the contents were destroyed.
With assistance from Newport Fire, North Lincoln Fire & Rescue, Pacific West Ambulance, Central Lincoln PUD, Oregon State Police and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Depoe Bay fire crews were able mitigate the impact to the homeowner and occupants. There were no injuries to firefighters or civilians. the dollar loss estimate is pending and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
