Flood Warning


The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for areas of Lincoln and Tillamook Counties, Widespread rain has caused sudden rises along area rivers and feeding streams. Rain will persist through Wednesday. Minor flooding is forecast for the Siletz River at Siletz now though late tomorrow morning. The Siletz river is expected to be above 18.0 feet, with minor flooding expected of a small housing development near mile post 8 down stream from Mack Landing. Widespread lowland and pasture land flooding also occurs at this level. Flooding may be exacerbated during high tide. The river will rise above flood stage this morning to 18.5 feet and then it will fall below flood stage late tonight. Flood stage is 16.0 feet.


The National Weather Service has also issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Oregon... Wilson River near Tillamook affecting Tillamook County. Nehalem River near Foss affecting Clatsop and Tillamook Counties. Trask River near Tillamook affecting Tillamook County. Renember when drivin to turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive through flooded areas.
