In a press conference today Governor Kate Brown has placed a statewide limit on indoor social gatherings of 10 or more people. This includes gatherings for potlucks, family events such as birthdays, dinner parties and book clubs. Brown said right now this does not affect businesses and churches, however that could change. Business she said that follow the rules with enforcing face coverings and social distancing will remain open at this time. As of Wednesday July 15th the governor is ordering that face coverings will be mandatory in outdoor settings.
Brown said it is up to businesses and individuals to make sure they comply with this order. She is setting up a statewide enforcement task force. Citations, fines and ultimately closing of businesses could happen to those who don't comply with the face covering rules. Governor Brown stated "I hope I don't have to go the route of other states such as Texas and California and shut things down again, however nothing is off the table at this point. If these orders are not followed I will be forced to take more restrictive measures. Your choices determine our future."
This week as of Today July 13, Lincoln County has had 7-deaths, A 91-year-old man is Lincoln County’s sixth reported local COVID-19 related death. He died July 10 at his residence and had underlying medical conditions. The 7th death is a 95-year-old woman who died today (July 13) at her residence and had underlying medical conditions. Lincoln County as of July 12th has 361 positive cases, 5,111 negative cases, 13 hospitalizations, and 18 have recovered.
