Travelers should expect high water on roads in many locations on the central and northern coast this evening and should plan trips accordingly. OR 18 Salmon River Highway is closed by high water at Otis, milepoint 1, east of the junction with U.S. 101. U.S. 101 is closed north of Tillamook at milepost 65 and westbound OR 6 is closed near the intersection with U.S. 101. Hwy 229 is also experiencing high water.
The flood warning remains in effect for Lincoln and Tillamook Counties through 8:30pm tonight (Friday). Flooding of rivers, creeks and streams is imminent. Many roads have high water and could be closed. Check www.tripcheck.com for travel updates. Low water areas may be flooded and unpassable. If you encounter high water on the roadway remember to turn around don't drown.
