The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning in effect from Midnight till 3pm Saturday. South winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60 mph expected near beaches and headlands. Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles in open spaces especially bridges. Strongest gusts will remain confined to areas along the immediate coast such as beaches and headlands. Areas just inland including most coastal communities are likely to see maximum winds gusts closer to 50 mph. People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive.
