On September 28th, 2022 at approximately 7:21 PM the Toledo Police Department received a 911 emergency call reporting a two vehicle head-on accident on Business Highway 20 near the intersection of NW Dundon Road (Child’s Corner). Officers arrived on scene and located the involved vehicles, a Honda CRV and Subaru Outback blocking both lanes of travel with significant damage to both vehicles. Officers contacted both drivers and determined neither sustained serious injury.
Through investigation it was determined the driver of the Honda CRV, who was identified as Lisa Archer of Philomath, had crossed well into oncoming traffic and struck the Subaru. Ms. Archer displayed numerous indicators of impairment and was eventually taken into custody for DUII. Witnesses who had been following Ms. Archer for a short time prior to the crash also reported Ms. Archer had been failing to maintain her lane and nearly struck another vehicle prior to causing the crash with the Subaru.
Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene as a result of the crash. Ms. Archer was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where she was lodged for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving and Reckless Endangering Another. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) every day, about 32 people in the United States die in drunk-driving crashes, which is one person every 45 minutes. In 2020, 11,654 people died in alcohol impaired driving traffic incidents.
