The Lincoln City Cultural Center will be closed from July 3 to August 8, for construction of the Cultural Plaza project. Oregon Heritage, a division of Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, awarded 18 grants totaling $277,681 for historic properties and archaeology projects. Six of the grants were awarded in the Diamonds in the Rough category. This grant funds façade enhancements that restore the historic character of the property. The Lincoln City Cultural Center was awarded a Diamonds in the rough grant from Oregon Heritage.
The Cultural Center recently posted that they are the stewards of a historic building, the Delake School, and they are especially grateful for the ecosystem of foundations and state agencies that support projects in restoration and heritage in our great state. The grant will help restore the original appearance the south entrance to the Delake School building. They will be removing the contemporary portico, creating an ADA compliant entrance and restoring the original multi-paned window.
