Writer: Kiera MorganKiera Morgan

On February 18th, 2025, 28-year-old Noah Charles Godfrey, of Lincoln City, was arrested after he arrived at an undisclosed public location to meet up with a suspected 15-year-old child for sex. Godfrey had recently begun chatting online with an undercover officer posing as the child. During the course of the online conversations, he sent graphic messages and suggestive images of himself. Godfrey made arrangements to meet and pick up the fictitious child for the purpose of engaging in sexual acts.

Godfrey was taken into custody by Lincoln City Police and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. On February 27th, 2025, a Lincoln County Grand Jury Indicted Godfrey on the charges of Online Sexual Corruption of a Minor in the First Degree, and Luring a Minor. Additionally, Officers determined Godfrey had been in contact with several other child victims and possessed Child Sexual Abuse Images of at least one of those. Lincoln City Police Department Detectives have been coordinating with other out-of-state Law Enforcement Agencies, who were able to contact the family of one of the victims.

The Lincoln City Police want to encourage parents to monitor their children's' social media activity and discuss with them the possible dangers of communicating with strangers online. These investigations are conducted in an effort to reduce criminal activity and to further enhance the safety of our community. If you have any information about additional victims, please contact the Lincoln City Police Department regarding case LCP25-2177.
