On Thursday, January 9, 2025, at approximately 9:39 AM, the Lincoln City Police Department Dispatch Center received calls of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash in the area of the north 1700 block of Highway 101, near M&P Thai. The Dispatch Center coordinated with multiple agencies including the North Lincoln Fire Rescue, Pacific West Ambulance, and Life Flight Network to care for the victim, who is currently in critical condition.
Through an investigation, LCPD learned that the driver of a dark blue Volkswagen, later identified as 20-year-old Aden Williams of Milwaukie, OR struck a 72-year-old pedestrian in a marked crosswalk. Williams was arrested and lodged at the Lincoln County Jail on a charge of Reckless Driving. An additional charge of Vehicular Assault has been referred to the Lincoln County District Attorney’s Office. He was also issued traffic citations for Driving While Suspended, Driving Uninsured, and Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian in a Crosswalk.
His passenger, 22-year-old Magali Ramirez of Woodland, WA, was arrested on an outstanding Cowlitz County warrant for Rape of a Child III. Drivers are reminded that in Oregon, pedestrians have the right of way at all crosswalks, marked or otherwise. Our highway system is designed for use by pedestrians, cyclists, and motor vehicles.
