The City of Newport announced the release of the City of Newport Art Seen rotating
art sculpture program. The program was created by the Newport Public Art Committee. The Newport Public Art’s Committee invites emerging, mid-career and established artists to submit work to the Public Arts Committee’s program, Art Seen, a rotating outdoor art gallery.
Under the terms of the program, selected artists are given the opportunity to receive a stipend, and display their work in Newport for a two-year period.
Art displayed as part of the Art Seen program must be available for sale to the public and If the art sells during the display period, the City will receive a portion of the sale to fund future public art in Newport. The City of Newport has installed 4 concrete bases at the Newport Performing Arts Center located at 777 W Olive St, Newport, OR 97365, where the art will be displayed.
