New Lincoln City Police Chief

LCPD congratulated their newly appointed Chief David Broderick, who was officially sworn in on December 19th at a ceremony in the LCPD Community Room. Former Chief Jerry Palmer attended the ceremony to “pass the pins” and provide him with his collar brass Chief Stars. Chief Broderick had previously been serving as Interim-Chief for the past several months after the retirement of Palmer.

Broderick has been with LCPD since January of 2005, and has served in many roles including Operations Lieutenant, Patrol Sergeant, Detective, Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Range Master, and a member of SWAT. As a Detective, he was a member of LINT before it was disbanded in 2015, and continued to serve as a Narcotics Detective for LCPD, as well as being a member of the Lincoln County Major Crime Team.

During his tenure as Chief, he hopes to continue the vision he created with Palmer to maintain an agency of integrity, and build on and strengthen our partnership with the community, because the support of our citizens is our most important priority.
