New entry process now in effect at Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport.
All patients and visitors must enter through the hospital's one public entrance and be screened before being allowed entry. Look for the tent located by the Emergency entrance. There, the screeners will ask:
1. Have you traveled internationally or traveled to an area with a wide geographic spread of coronavirus in the last 14 days? 2. Have you had close contact with anyone who has traveled as described above? 3. Do you have shortness of breath, cough, fever? 4. All persons will have their temperature taken.
The exception to this is for infants 14 days or younger. They should be brought to the tent and they will be taken directly into the ED entrance to be screened there. Symptom-free people will be directed on to their destination. People with symptoms will be advised of their next step.
