The Newport City Council will hold a Town Hall Meeting for residents, business
owners, and other interested persons on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 6:00 P.M., at the
Newport Public Library, in the McEntee Meeting Room. The Newport Library is located at
35 NW Nye Street in Newport. The agenda for this meeting includes an overview of the current status of funding for the street projects in Newport, a summary of the existing revenues from the Newport local fuel tax, and a summary of the revenues estimate to be generated by the proposed ballot measure for the Street Fund.
In addition, members of the Newport City Council will share their views on the
proposed ballot measure, and hear from members of the public on their thoughts and
concerns about street funding in the City of Newport. The City Council periodically schedules Town Hall Meetings on months that contain a fifth Monday. These meetings provide an opportunity to meet Council in an informal setting.
