Lincoln County Health and Human Services has a new web page for the Community Shelter and Resource Center, the county’s seven-day-a-week warming shelter. The shelter opened on Tuesday sct. 3 and operatez from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. through the end of March. The goal of the Community Shelter and Resource Center is to save lives. Volunteers are needed to help with facilities maintenance, food service, pet care and registration. Shelter operations will begin with a rotation between St. Stephens Episcopal Church and First Presbyterian Church in Newport while the former Crossroads building at 351 SW Seventh St. is prepared to open as the permanent shelter facility later this winter.
The Lincoln City shelter location is expected to open Nov. 1 at 4225 N U.S. Highway
101, across from the Wildflower Grill. Volunteers are also needed for that location.

Lincoln County thanks the Housing Authority of Lincoln County for its hard work in
seeking and acquiring shelter sites. The county is also grateful for financial contributions
