On Monday, June 05, 2023, due to fire danger concerns, The Newport City Council
passed a resolution prohibiting the use of retail fireworks within City limits. This
prohibition runs from June 05, 2023 to October 15, 2023. Newport Municipal Code authorizes the City Council through resolution to prohibit the use of retail fireworks based on certain weather or weather-related conditions.
Retail fireworks can still be sold and purchased within City limits in Newport, however the City asks visitors and residents to refrain from setting off fireworks inside the City limits due to the
weather conditions until the prohibition has been lifted. The City is still holding it’s annual July 4th Fireworks Display. The show will take place at 10 P.M, on July 4th.
The sponsored fireworks display is being set off over water in Yaquina Bay from the west end of the Port of Newport’s International Terminals. The City would like to thank the Port of Newport for their generous use of their facilities. The Fireworks can be viewed anywhere within the general vicinity of Yaquina Bay.
Lincoln City city ordinances prohibit the sale, possession and use of fireworks in the City of Lincoln City. Specifically, in City Parks, Parking Lots, and on City Streets and Rights of Way, the use of any type of firework, sparkler, snake, model rocket, rocket motor, other form of explosive, or smoke-producing device or instrument, (including exempt fireworks) is prohibited and carries a minimum $250.00 minimum fine. Fireworks are only allowed on your own personnel property. The city of Lincoln City will be holding a Live Music and fireworks display in the Taft area overlooking Siletz Bay starting at 10pm.
