Seafood and Wine Festival

This event The Original and still the Best! combines the perfect blend of fun and excitement!  With over 150 vendors, including over 50 small Oregon Wineries, more than 70 Local Artisans and nearly 20 Local Chefs the Newport Seafood & Wine Festival is held in an outdoor tented venue located near Rogue Ales & Spirits in South Beach at the Port of Newport. This festival attracts a large audience of visitors; over 20,000 people to Newport from all over the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Many attendees have been coming to the festival for numerous years!

 

There will be an exclusive pop-up dining experience at the 2025 Newport Seafood & Wine Festival, where Dungeness crab takes center stage in a multi-course tasting menu. Enjoy the finest flavors of the Oregon coast in this indulgent, crab-inspired feast, paired with a complimentary glass of sparkling wine.

 

-1st Course: Dungeness Crab "California Roll" Deviled Egg, served with a glass of sparkling wine.

-2nd Course: Dungeness Crab Cake with Tartar & Lemon.

-3rd Course: Choose your main dish:

*Hot or Cold Steamed Whole Dungeness Crab with Lemon & Drawn Butter

*NW-Style Seafood Crab Boil

(all entrees served with seasonal vegetables & starch)

-4th Course: Dungeness Crab & Bay Leaf Ice Cream with a Lemon Dulse Shortbread Cookie (served to-go, so you can walk & enjoy the festival)

 

The Newport Seafood Chowder Competition returns for its second year, highlighting the regions exceptional seafood and culinary talent at the Seafood and Wine

Festival. Talented chefs from across the Pacific Northwest will vie for the title of "BEST

SEAFOOD CHOWDER" serving their signature creations to thousands of festival attendees a compostable spoon, and a People's Choice ballot.


All proceeds from Tasting Kit sales benefit the Newport Chamber of Commerce and its year-round support of local businesses and community programs. The festival also provides crucial fundraising opportunities for over twenty local non-profit organizations and generates significant economic impact for area businesses during this four-day event. Tasting Kits will be available for purchase each festival day, with sales concluding at the end of each day, except for Sunday, when sales will end at 1:00 PM.

Tasting Hours:

 Thursday: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM

 Friday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

 Saturday: 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM

 Sunday: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

Guests must present one wooden nickel per two-ounce chowder sample.


This unique experience will be available from Thursday, February 20, to Saturday, February 22, 2025. The price is $75 per guest. Crab & Vine (pop-up restaurant) will feature wine from the medal winners of the 2025 festival, in bottle or glass pour options. Paired wine flights will also be available. This year will also feature our 2nd Annual Seafood Chowder Cook-off. A panel of judges will blind-taste each entry. Prizes to be awarded for display during the show by the vendors and tastes will be available for the "People's Choice". The winner will be announced on Sunday of the event.

 

This event is also looking forward to a small stage showcasing wine talks and tastings, growing and harvesting techniques, live demonstrations, and art talks.  This year will introduce a separate Music Tent with a lineup of top-rated bands: Ty Curtis, Tsunami Zone, Weird Science, Too Loose Cajun Zydeco Band, Mariachi Cuervo, Randy McCoy, Sunny Hess and Hecktic Week.
