On 6/13/22 a driving complaint was reported about a red Nissan Frontier traveling West on Hwy-18. The car was located and stopped for a traffic violation. After an investigation the driver, identified as 52-year old John D, Scholwalter II was arrested for DUII. He was transported to the Lincoln City Police Department where he refused to provide a breath sample. After a search warrant was written, a breath sample was obtained showing he had a blood alcohol content of .29, over three times the legal limit. Scholwalter was cited and released for DUII. On 6/15/22 at approximately 745 AM State police trooper Severson observed a passenger who had an outstanding warrant in Lincoln County for Failure to Appear for prior DUI and Reckless Driving. Trooper Severson performed a traffic stop and took the passenger, identified as 60-year old Bob J. Hockema into custody. He was found possessing a small amount of substance consistent with methamphetamine and was lodged at Lincoln County Jail for the warrant and possession of methamphetamine.
