Around 3am on Sunday March 23rd crews from North Lincoln Fire and Rescue (NLFR) responded to a fully engulfed residential fire on SW Anchor Ave in Lincoln City. The home was abandoned, and a neighbor saw flames and smoke and called 911. NLFR arrived and found flames showing from the 2nd and 3rd floor of the home and on the roof. Due to the condition of the structure and the concern for public safety, NLFR crews allowed the structure to be consumed by fire and collapse onto itself.
Crews stayed on scene until around 11am and continue to monitor the burnt home and add water as needed. Smoke can still be seen at the site as the fire is still smoldering, consuming the structure. There was no threat to surrounding areas however, there was some flooding of a neighboring yard. Fire personnel are working to contact the legal owner of the home to determine next steps in removing the remains of the structure. There were no injuries. NLFR was assisted on scene by Depoe Bay Fire.
