On September 9th at approximately 11:24 AM, State Police Trooper Eskridge responded to a three car crash on Hwy 101 in Waldport. Investigation showed the driver of a silver, Jeep Grand Cherokee was northbound on Highway 101 preparing to turn westbound across Highway 101 into Governor Patterson State Park.
The driver of a black Jeep Wrangler was northbound behind the Cherokee. As the drive of the Cherokee came around the corner, the driver did not see any brake lights or turn signal activated and applied its brakes and was able to stop, just prior to impact with the Cherokee.
The driver of a red Nissan Frontier pick-up, was northbound behind the Wrangler and attempted to stop, but struck the rear of the Wrangler which moved forward and struck the rear of the Cherokee. The driver of the Cherokee was struck in the rear of her head by unrestrained cargo in the back of her vehicle and was transported to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport, with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
