As part of the annual Toledo Art Walk on Labor Day weekend in Toledo, Oregon, the Toledo Art Guild will host a two-day art sale at the Toledo Union Hall, 138 N. 1st St., Toledo, on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 31 to Sept. 1, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the sale, Guild members will also demonstrate art techniques every hour on the hour from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on both days.
Artwork from eight Guild members will be offered for sale, including felting and mixed media by Sandy Blackman; watercolor and mixed media by Tish Epperson; fused glass by Alice Haga; fine art photography by Sylvia Hosie; printing and mixed media by Cynthia Jacobi; shell art by Valerie Jacobi;mixed media by Jennifer Norman; and jewelry by Jennifer Rose. There will also be a Guild Members’ Table with offerings by additional members.
Throughout the two day-event, Guild artists will givedemonstrations that are free and open to all.
Artist demonstrations will explore techniques such as linoleum printing, copper tile embossing, and mixed media. At each demonstration, participants can make an item to take home. Artist talks will feature the work of local artists Sam Brisenoand Scott Blackman, and will also include a discussion on how to publish a successful art book. Sunday’s demonstration will be devoted to children, (and the young at heart) with all-day, creative rock painting. All supplies are included in the demonstrations.

Sunday, Sept. 1
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Children’s Art Day with Rock Painting
Children and adults with an inner child can explore the fun of creative rock painting with Sandy Blackman, former Toledo art teacher. All supplies provided.
During the two-day event, shoppers can also enjoy free coffee, cookies and, if it’s a hot day, refreshing ice water.
The Toledo Art Guild was formed in 2010 by a group of local artists from the Toledo, Oregon area encompassing all forms of artistic expression. Today, with 40 members, the Guild has expanded to include members from all over Lincoln County.
