Toledo In Search Of New Management Team

Writer: Kiera MorganKiera Morgan

The city of Toledo is looking to find a new management team. They are working with their interim city manager David Clyne who requested the ability to hire an interim finance manager and Human Resources (HR) position while the council conducts the search for a permanent finance director and HR person. Clyne mentioned that he has been in contact with Judy Richter, the former finance director and former city manager who has said she would agree to do the finances for the city on an interim basis while the council conducts a search for a permanent one. Clyne noted the city is about two and a half months behind in getting budget work done because of the lack of management. The council was very pleased at the prospect of Judy coming back.

Clyne told the council he will be contacting the Lane County Council of Governments to see if they have an interim person the city can use for an HR person. He also announced that the city attorney gave his resignation. City Attorney Mike Adams thanked the council for the past 9 and a half years that he has been working with the city but said it was time to move on. His last day will be May 2nd. Clyne added that they can take a look at some firms that the city can work with that can provide all of the necessary legal services that the city needs.  Mayor Rod Cross said he will contact Siletz Mayor Willie Worman to see what Newport firm they use. The council will continue to work with hiring agencies to get applications for city manager, finance director, Human Resources, and city attorney positions.
