The Toledo Summer Festival is in full swing And Makayla Sanchez was crowned Summer Festival Queen. There are several events and activities taking place this weekend. The Carnival is up and running until 12am with the parade starting at 11am and the field opening at noon. At 5pm there will be a presentation and award given to Timber Unity for standing up for the blue collar folks. We will be doing a facebook live from the presentation.
Throughout the weekend there will be logging shows, a junior logging show on Sunday and Jr. Firefighters challenge. American Mayham will be performing Saturday and Sunday. Toledo Summer Festival Committee members will be on the field throughout the weekend wearing Red shirts if you have questions. Also new this year the Toledo City council and the Mayor will have an informational booth and of course the ever popular fireworks show will be held at dusk on Saturday night.
Toledo City councilor and Summer Festival committee member Heather Jukich said the planning committee works very hard all year to put on a great event for the community. She said the event is planned entirely by volunteers. Those who might be interested in participating in next year's event are encouraged to contact one of the committee members and get information about volunteering for next year's event. For more information or a schedule see the Summer Festival facebook page.
