Traffic Stop Leads To Arrest For Drugs


On September 5, 2022 at approximately 12:00 AM, Officer Bare with the Toledo Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a 2002 Lincoln LS car for multiple traffic violations on Hwy 20 near milepost 7.5. The driver did not have a driver’s license and was identified as Melissa Korkow. Ms. Korkow told the Officer she had a warrant for her arrest.


A routine check revealed Ms. Korkow had an active felony warrant for her arrest and she was placed into custody. After placing Ms. Korkow into custody it was learned she was in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamine, heroin, and packaging materials. Ms. Korkow was also in possession of a firearm she was prohibited from having.


After further inspection on the firearm, the Officer observed the serial number was altered/tampered with. Ms. Korkow was lodged at the Lincoln County Jail for her warrant, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of heroin, attempted unlawful delivery of methamphetamine, attempted unlawful delivery of heroin, felon in possession of a firearm, and obliteration or change of identification number on a firearm.
